Thank you so much again for your research! A request- please don't use the edit feature to make changes/add info. Not only can it makes the conversation difficult to follow, but revisions don't show that anything new was posted or notify anyone following the thread. Please make sure to use comments instead. Thank you!

One additional request format wise- we want the resource threads to be detailed, descriptive and to invite conversation. (The way this thread was originally started was perfect.) Embedded picture heavy and discussion rich is the way to go! Please use a photo hosting site if possible rather than facebook (like you were previously) as we need the highest resolution images possible, and facebook destroys that. We are not writing standards here; that's done in the standards subforum linked below- think of this as the costume discussion and research area. Wording etc. we do when we write the standard.

This is where the standard discussion will happen once we think we have the details deciphered enough to start figuring out wording:

Excellent job breaking down the bits! Love the link to the leather site, and excellent catch on the Jyn greeb. Smile

Some observations to add to the discussion-

Shirt:

The shirt has a visible weave, some texture and has a sheen but isn't super shiny. It's labeled as a silk, but I think other fiber choices will work too.

This picture from JenEyre gives a good look at the texture:

These images have a really nice look at the weave:

Pants:

Pants are a wool, maybe suiting? I think dress pants with a similar drape and fly front will probably work well. Pants are looser fitting, so probably more of a traditionally cut trouser rather than a modern fit.

You can see the blousing/looseness, as well as, the drape in Jen's picture here:

And the general fit in this picture from Endor Express:

Holster Greeb:

Definitely close to Jyn's! Colored rectangle looks an orangey yellow rather the red on Jyn's. The holster strap greeb- here's a link to the free file on thingyverse- how are we feeling out this model? There are a couple little things that look slightly off of the Lando refs to me. (The ridge around the colored rectangle and ribbed rectangle is one.) Anyone have a closer file?
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1479921

Cape:

Cape is structured/tailored and it looks like there are shoulder pads. You can see the shoulder structure really well here:

And this reference from Endor Express shows the overall structure well:

It reminds me a lot of these from the 1940's

This pattern might be a base that could be used to modify. Obviously longer, add shoulder pads, no arm slit, use center back seam.

https://www.joann.com/simplicity-pattern-8263-misses-capes-capelets-size-a-xs-s-m-l-xl/15907561.html?

The collar is definitely cut separately, and the lining while close in color to the lining of the rest of the cloak, looks like a velvet rather than a satin or charmeuse- I'm going to guess cotton velvet because it will be sturdier. I think the lining and fashion fabric are likely both silk- just different weaves/finishes.
https://sewguide.com/different-types-of-silk-fabric/

This reference shows the difference in the collar and cloak body lining pretty well:

Here's a back reference from JenEyre showing both the sheen of the outer cloak fabric and the back seam:

Cane, Communicator, Blaster, Holster, Belt:

It looks like the greeb bits have been modeled, but I'm not sure that they are publicly available yet- either for sale or for free on yeggi/thingiverse.

With the cane head I've seen a bunch of pieces translating the Aurebesh as Lando's name and saying the shape is designed to look like Cloud City- both of which totally make sense. Has anyone seen one from an LFL sanctioned source we can cite?

Has anyone found a good reference for the actual holster part? I'd love to get an idea for how it attaches to the strap and what exactly is going on with the strap on the left where it is almost always blocked from view.

Here's the full reference album I've pulled together. I tried to find the highest resolution version of the screen caps/promo images.

https://imgur.com/a/k7waUyG

I have some more random thoughts I'll add tomorrow, but it's getting super late and coherent sentences are always a plus.

A couple more thoughts:

Shirt:

The neckline looks like a flat v neck with crossing bias/facing that has been cut with an included mandarin collar. I think the distinctive little wave/dip in the collar edge is where the mandarin bit is added onto the facing? What do you all think? These tutorials may help give a starting point for figuring it out:

I think Ferd nailed it with the piping along the edges- you can see how the black sandwiches it really well in this shot:

Here are some tutorials that might be useful when adding the piping:

Sewing with Piping:

Cloak:

For the cloak, I thought some of these tutorials for jacket structure might be useful:

Also, there's a facing of the outer fashion fabric that runs along the inside attached to the lining. This facing looks like it continues up around the collar where it is part of the side facing out. You can see it here:

These tutorials might be helpful in figuring that bit out:

Assembling a Facing and Attaching to a Lining:
https://www.chalkandnotch.com/joy-sew-along-7-assemble-facing-attach-to-lining/

Holster/Strap:

The strap holding the holster runs cross-body from the left shoulder to the right hip, and it starts to gradually widen mid-chest below the greeb.

You can see the widening really clearly here:

The holster itself is interesting. It looks like an asymmetrical strip of leather that is wrapped around the blaster and held closed with two black snaps where it overlaps in back. I'm not sure how it attaches to the cross-body strap; it looks like it twists around in some of the shots?

Boots:

We should note that boots have an inside zipper. Smile (Thanks Jeneyre for this image.)

Blaster:
The "modified" bit should include reference to the mother-of-pearl inlay in the handles. That's pretty iconic.

I found some fabrics that might work.

Cloak collar lining possibilities:

For the collar lining, I think cotton velvets are going to give the closest match.

I think this is the best option of the ones I found by far-
https://www.etsy.com/listing/623557693/teal-colour-cotton-dressmaking-velvet?

This is quite a bit pricier and upholstery fabric:
https://www.fabric.com/buy/0394760/p-kaufmann-obsession-cotton-velvet-peacock

Cloak body lining possibilities:

The lining of the cloak body looks like a silk satin or charmeuse. This silk blend looks affordable, has the right finish, and is a good color.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/502723802/silk-satin-teal-fabric-dark-blue?

This poly also looks like it has possibilities:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/584242406/payton-dark-teal-faux-silk-charmeuse?

Outer cloak possibilities:

These look like they have possibilities for the outer cloak.

https://www.fabric.com/buy/0695031/italian-designer-wool-silk-suiting-charcoal

https://www.moodfabrics.com/dark-gray-silk-and-wool-blended-suiting-319333

Shirt possibilities:

For the shirt, something like this might work:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/485202576/yellow-india-raw-silk-shantung-silk?

An alternative might be a linen or linen cotton blend. The silk they used is matte with only a subtle sheen, and there is a visible texture.

Added shoulder pad tutorials to the shoulder structure ones above and fixed the jacket foundation link. (Had to use the wayback machine, Burda updated their site and removed the tutorial.)
