I did not want to hijack anyones thread.
So here is my Rebel Trooper. I have to admit
it makes me look a bit fat.

I wouldn't sweat the color in the short term. That is easily tweaked. The main thing is you got it together and it looks good. I find I usually end up making adjustments and or improvments after a costume has seen it's first event anyway.

So I take it you used a Dickies chambray shirt? Did you lighten it at all?

No, I didn't lighten it. I wanted the darker look so it would look more
like this one.

Everyone else's shirts look too light to me. I think the overall look of the
costume will look better when I have time to paint the helmet light grey.
I'm not as worried about matching others as much as I am making the
best costume I can make.

Maybe it's the lighting, but your shirt doesn't look as dark as mine. When I first got it, it was so dark, it was almost grey. After one round of color remover, it looks like yours, but not quite the same.

Mine is very blue. I wish it was just a touch more grey, but
I'm not unhappy with the slightly darker look. The shirt I wanted
to match is a touch dark but more grey. Overall I'm happy with it.
I have no plans to lighten it, just paint the helmet light grey like i said.
That will have to wait till after Dragon. Can you take a quick shot of your
and post it so I can see your tone, and color?

The navy chambray shirts are the best match imo, thats what we used. Any army surplus store should have some.

I thought they were too light. I was going for a richer color.
