Well Finally going to stop procrastinating and get this started. I have asked a few questions in the past but decided I needed to put it all in one place.
I hail from Oxford, NC. Been a Star Wars Fan form the start, yes im old . I have wanted to join the RL for some time, but the other RL (real life ) kept getting in the way. I decided to move the build off of the back burner after speaking to some of the great folks from BRB at the Raleigh Galaxycon. Since then I have been going through the tutorials in the forums as well as following other Generic Jedi builds.
So far I have the outer tunic done, and the Obi/Talbards cut out but not sewn.
Im trying to decide what interfacing if any I need to add to the Talbards/Obi
The belt, Food capsules, and pouches will be arriving soon. Once I have them I plan on dying the belt, pouches and boots to match.
My Lightsaber is an US Prophesy with a green blade.

Hi Ronnie!
This is exciting to see your build so far! It's looking good. Can't wait to see the belt.
I...truthfully never add interfacing. I made a Sith last summer for Saber Guild and ended up just doubling up on the fabric and calling it good. I used some pretty thick fabric, though, which is how I was able to get away with it.
I'm currently building a Jedi if you want an online build buddy to commiserate with. I've also been bothering the good folks over at The Art Of The Generic Jedi on Facebook. Are you in that group? _________________ Docking Bay Commanding Officer

Thanks, I actually joined that group about 4 days ago. Getting ready to start sewing the talbards. Only issue I seem to be having is getting the seam to sit correctly when I turn them right-side out. I had some difficulty on my test run with some scrap material. Im using linen fabric that I got on sale at Joanns |

I had that issue when I did my Sith. I ended up having to get my iron out to fix it. Many tears were had because I really hate ironing. :p _________________ Docking Bay Commanding Officer

I knew you’d eventually turn to the Jedi side! 🤣
Build buddies are great for encouraging each other to continue on.
I didn’t use interfacing in my tabbards or my obi. I wish now I had faced the obi as it crumples over my belt. I will be facing my next set of tabbards and obi, I need a "dress" set. _________________

I don't think I am putting interfacing in the talbards, just the obi. Im putting a medium interfacing throughout to help keep it straight and not pucker and a heaver interfacing at the closure to keep it flat. Im new at the sewing thing but I got my wife a years subscription to Blueprint and Ive been using it more than she does. Does anyone have a source for a good inner tunic dicky pattern? I also found I have to be careful ironing linen before I sew it. It distorts easily. |

LOL. I'm definitely more of a Sith. I don't do well with Rules. There are reasons up until now my costumes have been Jyn, Jyn, Jyn, and a Sith. I have to come up with a back story for my Jedi and it's hard!

What style of inner tunic are you going for? For my Sith, I basically just made a second collar. I can take pictures for you if you want. _________________ Docking Bay Commanding Officer

Im thinking about doing one same style as the outer tunic, but I am also thinking of having an "old Ben" style as well. |

It's looking so good. And I learned the same lesson the hard way, too. Sending you supportive hugs. _________________ Docking Bay Commanding Officer

Just asking a question but are the tabbards going to be long enough? _________________ Active: Legion Member

they will be. I still have to sew on the extensions to get the Y shape. I want to get the securing snaps sewn on so I can make sure to get the talbard angle under the obi like I want it. |
