The Belt. Does this look like the right one? The CS says the energy pellets are optional, but are the loops themselves optional? Hard to tell from the way it's written. Trying to figure out if I can leave it the way it is, or do I need to add loops. ?

The pants. Hopefully these work. They are BDU's from Tru-Spec.

Boots. These Chelsea boots were cheap and broken in. Will they work if I add the cuffs?

Make sure that the PLCE belt is worn inside out so that the loops are visible.

This particular belt has no inside out. Both sides are smooth.

In my opinion, with the ankle cuffs, the boots should work- most of the elastic will be covered, and the general profile looks good. Smile

Can you clarify which loops you mean? The ones on the belt itself (Don't forget they wore those the opposite direction of the British military- with the loopy bits on the outside. It looks like you might need to flip your belt around.), or the ones for the additional greebs?

Aaaand you all responded while I was typing, lol. Mike, you will need one of the PLCE belts with the loops.

This is the type to look for. They are available for less on eBay if you'd rather not add the loops yourself. Smile

So the one pictured, I already purchased but it looks like it's not the same as the one in the link you posted. So to be clear, the one I have will work if I add loops? Do the loops need to go all the way around? Just trying to figure out if I need to buy another belt.

There are two styles of PLCE belts. The first one is the one that you bought. The second one with the loopy inner layer is the one you want. It is available with a plastic quick-release buckle or a roll pin buckle. The correct PLCE belt will not fit into the belt loops of Tru-Spec or Rothco BDU pants as well as Helikon SFU NEXT pants. The belt loops are too short (approximately 63mm), and have to be adjusted to a length of approximately 77mm – 80mm for it to fit.

Its the wrong type of belt, it needs to be a PLCE webbing roll pin belt. You then turn it inside out. I think recreating the look with webbing would be tricky.

Just to note, mine is the wrong colour though as its for a different build.

Thank you for the information. So I bought the wrong belt. But more troubling is that the correct belt won't fit the belt loops of any of the store bought BDUs. Hmmm.

Belt loops are super easy to adjust. Patricia describes how on her build thread. If you're not sure you want to tackle that, it is something that any place that does hemming (most dry cleaners have them) should be able to do inexpensively.

Forgive me for all the questions, but if I buy the correct PLCE belt, and turn it inside out, do the greebs go in existing loops or are those extra sewn on loops?

No problem. Ask as many questions as you want. We are here to help.

The greeblies are in extra loops that are sewed on to the belt. You do not have to add the loops and the greeblies if you do not want to. They are optional. I would add them if I were you so that you can also use it for other costumes such as the signals intelligence technician.
