Hello!

I have a perspective member who messaged my Base asking why the pike or blaster is required for RL but optional for 501st for the ROTS Senate Guard. Is there a reason behind this? The member has all but the weapon and would love to join but it will take him months to be able to get the item.

Thank you!

Hi there! The short answer is that the 501st standards were developed after and separately from the Rebel Legions standards, which have been around for many years now, so the two standards do not have any direct relation to each other.

I believe the reason for requiring a force pike or a rifle is that in all scenes in the movie, the senate guards were carrying one or the other.

If a force pike is difficult for him to get, I believe there are a few different 3D models of the blaster rifle that he could print instead.
