So it's been a long time, and I'm finally working on my husband's (yes, I married him since I started the costume...) KotOR Jedi costume. I assembled most of the belt tonight. I still need to finish the closure bit, but I want to try it on him with the costume first so I get the fit right.

That's great! I love seeing more KotOR Jedi.
For the shoulders, I used a piece of black leather that was pretty thick to begin with. I cut it in the shape I wanted, and then I soaked it in water until it started to sink. This makes it shapeable.
I wrapped it around something kind of round, stretched it, and held it in place for a while to get the curve I wanted, bent it in the middle, and then put some rubber bands around it to hold it's shape while it dried.
I attached it to the shoulder with some industrial sticky-back velcro, the kind people often use on patches.
For the bracers, I used a much thinner black leather. After I figured out a pattern I wanted out of paper, I cut it out of leather and then sewed it together with a very small seam allowance on my sewing machine. I also soaked these to stretch the hand opening so that they would go on easier. When sewing leather on your sewing machine, you'll want a special organ needle for leather and fairly strong thread. _________________

Has Anyone had KotOR style robes approved as a trooping costume? Is there a costume standard in existence for it? I'm trying to figure out my 4th Revan Variant for a different Revan every day of Celebration 2020 lol. So Far I have Darth Revan, Star Forge Robe Revan, and am working on Dark Horse Comics Revan (and corresponding Mandalorian). I'd love to do blue "Nemo Robes Revan" too!
Not sure why it's double posting If a mod happens upon this, could they delete the second one, please?

I got you.
Also! Yes, this is an approvable costume and has been approved multiple times- any costume that we can approve (and video game costumes all fit this mold because we can get 360 degree reference) can be used for trooping unless the host either specifically wants or does not want something.
There's a written standard for generic robes, if you feel the need for a guide. I also know that we have a few approved Star Forge Revans. We also have one approved SWTOR Revan!

Oh I know. I'm one of the approved Star Forge Revans lol.
Thank you for the generic robes link! I need a 4th Revan for my Celebration plot haha. Good to know I would at least be able to get this one approved for RL, but a written standard means I can make a case for SG as well |

Yes! Both my husband and I are approved as generic KotOR Jedi. I went for the red-orange style whereas we used a more generic mix-and-match approach for my husband:
I can't wait to see your costume come together! Do you know what version you will do? _________________
