is there any truth to the rumor that Porgs are the new "Ysalamiri"?
(they create 'dead zones' in the force?)

oh wait. nevermind. you're not ACTUALLY "Luke-in-Exile". you just look that way.
(an honest mistake, the resemblance is uncanny). Wink LOL

cheers

Hi Christopher,

Congrats on your costume, You've done a great job.
I've just started my build thread on this, so any tips and advice are greatly appreciated.

When you knitted the tunic & bag, what stitch did you use? And also, where did you get the boots, or do you have any other photos of them??

Cheers,

Al.

Sorry for the late answer, i am in real exile at the moment, hundreds of kilometers from home without internet. I hope you found help elsewhere, because in my opinion, my costume doesn't hold up to the movie.

The stitch i used for the bag and the tunic is a basic plain knitting stitch. Nothing fancy at all, but i would recommend hand knitting, because of the size of the loops. The problem here is, that now as the movie is out, the source material shows a knitting stitch, that neither i nor a complete facebook knitting group could identify. Maybe it is a combination of knitting and embroidery or a two layered knitting, but i really don't know. For the bag it is probably the correct stitch, though, but i think the original has fabric inside.

The boots are simple chelsea boots. I just removed the sole, the harness, redyed the whole boots with shoe polish and while they were still soft i rubbed the flat toe into a round shape. To glue on the new sole i would recommend shoe goo, because normal shoe glue does not hold the sole for long, i already lost them once at an event.
