I always said I would never do a rebel costume since I personally didn't think I'd like any of them, well after listening to some podcasts and killing a bottle of wine I decided that I should, nay, NEED to make a Willrow Hood costume.

Since I have just signed up on the boards I haven't had a chance to browse the various builds so if anyone has any pointers on acquiring a screen accurate ice cream maker it would be greatly appreciated.

Shame about the distance I think I have one.

The rest is a stripped down X-wing pilot so you could always go that route with some extras.

Enjoy the mustached Ice cream maker guy.

Several people have already made this costume. Ice Cream Man rules! Go for it!

Welcome aboard! Ebay may be your friend with getting an older ice cream maker that could work. I would check out garage sales and thrift stores as well; but I will keep an eye out for anything that could work.

I didn't realize how long it had been since I posted...

Well I am finally REALLY putting this together, I just ordered my flightsuit, code cylinders, and compad from Wampawear and should have it next week!

Question I have if anyone can answer this for me:

There's no way I'm shaving my goatee, will that be an issue? I will be getting a wig in the next month or two (assuming I don't grow my hair out) and grabbing some fake moustaches, so with any luck I will be able to troop for May 4th.

Looking at the standards, it states:
Willrow Hood Standards wrote:

6. Hair, mustache and sideburns:
. . . It is preferred that the costumer have no beard, however, a five o’clock shadow is ok, and beards if short, neatly trimmed, and that do not detract from the overall look, may be approved.

So, it may be that if you have a long goatee, they may not approve the costume; that is if you are going for RL approval.
