What color did you use for the green?

My found artifact helmet idea. Heavy weathering and distressing done on a practice helmet. Will be working on a DH helm once it arrives.

I decided against using Aurebesh since this helmet will be given to my son.

Just realized I never actually posted my helmet to this thread, and had meant to do so after approval. Whoops!

Here's my baby. Darth Hair, assembled by me, and decorated (by me) with a mix of DH-provided vinyl graphics and my own custom ones. (love my vinyl cutter!)

My pilot is from Corellia, thus the tribute to the blood stripe. The triangle design on the opposite side has no particular meaning or origin, I just kinda liked the way it looked when I started doodling ideas. Smile I'll make up a back story later, LOL! The Aurebesh on the back is my forum name.

It's funny, I worried about the weathering when I first did it, and had planned to strip it and reapply, but seeing it in trooping photos it seems to look fine, so I may never get around to that.

(It seems I never took a photo of the back once I had weathered it, so here's a shot while it was still clean, early in the application process. I'll edit this out and replace the pic once I get a chance to take a proper photo, soon, I hope)

Enjoy!

Started working on designing my DHPFX helmet. I modified my mock up a bit and went with a more simple clean look. It will be medium to heavy weathered once I finish a few tweaks. It was my first time using pin stripping so it's not perfect, but learned a lot.

Work done so far:

Weathering completed. Going for a very grimy, battle used look. Some carbon scoring but not much physical damage other than some scratches and normal wear and tear.

My second DHP-FX helm. Heavily inspired by Wedge's helmet obviously. However, there are a few customizations.

I've added black rebel emblems in the green sections, they blend in nicely. Also the back mohawk has a third onion slice. Everything else is roughly the same as Wedge's bucket.

Super excited! Got my DHPFX (Darthhair) custom X-wing helmet. He translated my drawings to the real helmet and weathered it perfectly. It was so surreal pulling it out the box... from drawing to real life.. so awesome!!! Many thanks again!

Hope these images aren't too big... If so let me know and I'll shrink them
