So Iím probably insane for trying to build this costume and have it approved before Celebration, but Iím going to try!

I purchased all of my soft goods materials on Wednesday.

And today I spent most of the time while my sons have been at school to make the underdress. I still need to hem the bottom and the bottom of the sleeves, but Iím really happy with how it looks and fits.

(If the pictures arenít imbedded properly I will try to fix that when I get a chance to get on my computer instead of being on my phone)

I finished the underdress and most of the tunic today, and the clay for the shoulder buttons and the pendant are baking right now. Depending on how the buttons and pendant turn out I might be able to to finish everything with the cords tomorrow, so I will only have to wait on my wig to arrive.

The underdress looks great! Looking forward to seeing the rest! Smile The fabric you chose for your overtunic has a great texture-nice find.

Thanks! Itís super comfortable too - and I definitely plan on making another dress or two from that pattern for normal everyday wear. The fabric for the overtunic is a linen/rayon blend, so it has the texture of linen without having to iron it every two minutes.

If everything goes well I can take some more progress pictures tonight after my boys are asleep, plus I just got the shipping notification for my wig this afternoon. I hadnít realized before that Arda wigs is based in Chicago, and I actually live in a far north suburb of Chicago, so I should actually get the wig before my convention next weekend.

I still have lots of little details to fix, plus the cords are only clipped on right now, but I am definitely happy so far.

Very nice! The folds in your overtunic turned out very well, and the drape is lovely. Smile

The one suggestion I have is when you are finishing up the shoulder brooch attachment, you'll want to futz with them so that they sit a bit more flush to your shoulder. I found using a washer with neodymium magnets worked well. Magnet goes under the tunic and holds the brooch in place.

These might even be thin enough to use on either side of the shoulder:

Iím using pin backs that are embedded in the clay to pin the shoulder brooches on. I imagine once the cords are completely secured in place then it will be less noticeable.
