Hi everyone -

I've been working on my X-WinPilot costume for a while and hope it's in good shape, but before finalizing the straps, belt and harnes, I wanted to get your feedback on the placement and positioning of the belt, harnes, flight vest and chest box.

Please see pictures below:

Many thanks in advance!

The outfit is looking pretty good. But you may need to shorten the shoulder straps of the vest, the back is sitting very low while the front looks like it's about where it should be.

The loose straps of the vest also get tucked into the "sleeves" on the back of it.

Thanks for the quick responses. My sholder straps are 10.5" long. I've done some more digging and the generally preferred length seems to be around 8,5". To achieve that, I would probably only wear the front panel slightly higher and make up most of the difference with raising the back panel.

But just to make sure I'm not creating another issue while shortening them, is it required that the lower ends of the front panel and back panel are at the same height/level when seen from the side or is that irrelevant?

Many thanks in advance!

There really is no set length for the shoulder straps because it will differ from person to person and the shape of their body. But yes, it is usually preferred if the bottom edges of the front and back of the vest sit roughly even with each other. They don't have to be exactly even, but somewhat even is usually preferred.
