Hi guys, hope you are doing fine Smile

I've got now my RFT helmet, and I was doubting about how to fix it to make it stay on my head while turning the head or tilting or whatever ><

Is the military helmet padding effective, or should I go for a helmet harness?

I am not sure how to make it stay in place.

Best Regards!

It's up to you how complicated you want to make it, or not.

I've done about a dozen troops in mine with *literally* nothing more than a piece of thin foam folded in half and stuck inside for my head to push against on top. Since there is a chin strap (and it's NOT like a Stormtrooper helmet that sits low and hits shoulders, armor, etc while you move your head around), it holds it in place just fine, and it moves normally with my head.

At some point I'll either glue in something a little more formal, or another method is to glue in a hard hat liner. Hard hat liner seems the cleanest and most ... fancy? But I haven't stumbled across a good option yet that doesn't seem like it costs more than it should. (I also haven't spent more than a few minutes searching for it, as it hasn't been high priority at all for me, since what I have is working.) I don't think the military pads (which I use to great effect in my Stormtrooper helmet) would work well since these helmets are very wide and don't curve tightly around your head like more enclosed helmets do.

Thanks guys, I'm still thinking about it, not sure about what to make yet...

Hard hat liner seems great, foam could be... I'm totally lost Rolling Eyes

I've almost no pictures about this to decide whether could work.

Best Regards

I'm planning to do a hardhat liner for mine. This seems like a pretty easy way to do it...

Trooperbay also sells the cut hardhat liners but it would be cheaper just to do it yourself, it just requires a bit of cutting.

Hard hat liner for me as well in one of mine, and a skateboard helmet liner in the other...

I just have a couple of strips of dense foam running across the width of the helmet, separated by a space of about 3-4 inches. Sits up nicely and allows for some air flow. I tried the military helmet pads, but this ended up feeling more comfortable.
