Hello all,
I was looking at builds to see if I can get info before asking. During my search I noticed mesh people were using w seemed bigger hole than mine which makes me think I am adding 2x the hair and working 2x as hard to finish a suit. I latch every other hole, every other row on the smaller hole mesh in the photo below. I am curious how many use which mesh and what frequency you use for your suits?

Sorry I can’t figure out how to have this show as an image yet, just link

I use a different kind of mesh than you do. It's more a honey comb shape.
I latch it as shown in the picture.

Yes it is. Local store for me only sales that one which is a smaller hole pattern it seems. I am not even sure where I got the larger hole mesh in my pic, but had a few yards of it mixed in with the utility mesh.

Huh, never realized there were 2 sizes of the utility mesh. I think you'll be okay. You can just space the knots out a bit more maybe?

Dang I asked about this too late lol.

Will stick to my norm for arms since it works great for grey wook, will do brown on chest and back with more spacing. Will save me time for sure! I was wondering how folks were finishing so fast.

Scouser, I think mine is the smaller hole as well. Everyone posted that they used about 50 bags of hair, I used 80. I ended up having to do a huge amount of trimming before submitting for approval.

If I do another wookie I will look for the larger size whole and save a lot of time and a bit of money!

Hi Big Bear,
I have not kept track of the bags of hair I used. I should have, but figured I was using some from previous build and some I had from who knows what, so no idea what my accurate count would be at this time. I try to keep each bit I latch even, but I know some are too thin, others too thick. Also depends on the visibility factor of where it is placed. The top of the arm when holding my arm up gets heavy strands to hide the seam and the latching knots.

If I have enough hair left over, I may make a 3rd suit, generic, just to toy with spacing and mesh. Take my time on it and eventually sell it if everything looks okay. Would be rather fun to make a patchwork wookiee of sorts.
