Musuem Replicas is getting rid of their remaining stock of gloves, pants and shirts. The tunic is not approved by RL, if I'm correct, but the shirt and pants are. NO RETURNS/REFUNDS.

the cape is fine. it's the best part of the ensemble Wink

note: the only reason the OT/Tabards are not accepted, is because of the color.
(ie: to be accepted , the OT/tabard must photograph 'lighter than' the shirt/pants;
MR made their OT tabbards 'darker than' the shirt/pants -- that's the only reason).

if it were possible to wash some of the black dye out of the OT/tabard.. until it appears 'lighter than' the shirt/pants.. then it would be accepted.

hope this helps. cheers.

Has anyone tried using RIT Color Remover to wash the dye out of the tabards/obi so they and the shirt are approvable?

I think it would possible to just wash it a few times with 'Tide' and this would fade it enough to be accepted.
(?)

here are some photos I took, revealing the texture of the original screen used vest.
it's kind of 'beat up', as you can see.
(I think the MR version just needs to be 'weathered' a bit -- it's basically the same thing, it's just too 'pristine' to be accepted LOL).

Excellent, thank you! If detergent doesn't take it out I'll try color remover. Once the tabards/obi are lighter than the tunic there's nothing that has to be changed on the tunic itself, correct?

I'm interested in this thread. I've recently made a purchase of the Museum Replicas vest, and it is indeed a tad bit dark.

Any luck with washing it?

I did a hand wash last night, and it dried up and completely lost its shape and form. I'm so bummed.

I put some pins in it to help stretch it back out and retain its form, and later I'll iron it out a bit to flatten out the two side pieces. I can't really be sure it got any lighter either.

Any further advice how to get it ONE shade lighter?

oh, new member, first post btw. Smile

Ugh well, I completely f'ed this one up. The hand washing of it made it shrink and lose all it's shape. The two panels that come down each side are just too, too skinny now and I can't get them stretched back no matter how much I try.

Shame, I spent a good chunk of change on it.

I wound up buying the only other one I could find, a L/XL, which will no doubt be too big on me. If I take this to a tailor, they can size it properly right?
