Hey everyone. This is Chris.

This is my intro to getting some initial thoughts and opinions about my custom jedi historian costume.

I have the following fabric:

The inner tunic will be the white color.
The outer tunic will be the sand color.
The outer skirt will be the brown color.
The tabard and obi will be the red color.

The idea I have is that the skirt will be cut in a style similar to chinese martial arts outfits to make it a little more 'battle ready' with leggings worn under the skirt.

I am still working through the details of what material to use as trim for the tabard.

So, what do you all think?
Thanks in advance

That's going to look amazing when it all comes together!

Fun pattern. Mixing it with brown and cream is good because the red is so bold. I probably wouldn't go all the way to white but cream, light grey etc could work well.

Welcome Chris. That will be great look on you.

A custom made skirt should be ok. I would have it be nice and full so when standing it looks complete (no gap showing). Be careful as the standards have a note about not allowing off the shelf martial arts attire.

If we can help feel free and ask. Do you have a saber?

Best of luck with it, I'm sure it will be spectacular.

Spent a good two days working on this to get it ready for a trial run at the office Halloween party.

Still need to do a few modifications and adjustments, but it is working well and is easier to move around in compared to my Mando.

One side note:
I need to remember to LIFT the front of the skirt when going up stairs ...

Awesome. What needs doing to have it ready to submit?

Too right that. Master robes too. No one wants to fall down the stairs.

stairs are tricky with the long skirts and robes. I love the fabric! How close to submission are you? I wonder if you'll be the first approved male jedi archivist? would be super cool for Takodana to have this first of both Smile

No male Librarian/Archivist/Historian's that I know have been approved (could have missed some though). I know several have build threads in the Jedi section though.

I am close to being ready to submit.

Outer tunic is complete.
Inner tunic is complete.
Skirt is complete.
Need to modify my tabard. I am planning on rounding the bottoms and adding a curtain grommet.
Need to modify the obi. I need to shorten it. It is currently 12 inches wide. I think 8 inches is good.
I need to buy or make a pouch.

So I should be ready by the end of this weekend to submit or get feedback.

Sounds good. General rule of thumb on Obi's is 2 inches above and below the belt (also usually 2 inches). 8 is probably ok, depending on how it sits, if stiff/tall could be closer to 6.

Look forward to having it cleared, I hope all goes well. If you'd like any help with it or photos we'd be happy to.

Jedi Historian is 99% done.

All I have left to do is attach the tabards to the outer tunic.

Front view

Side view

Sexy leg pose

I know that the obi is on backwards; it was just me getting the costume on so I did a 'quick and dirty' fitting. I have a nice bow for the back to hide the velcro...

Looking good.

It could be the lens but the obi could be a little higher. What are you using for trousers and boots?

Be great to have it all together and submitted. Ben
