Hi all!

I just cleared with my regular X-wing kit this morning and I'm already looking to make the upgrade to Snowspeeder! Coming into the winter months it would be great to have an extra layer to put on! ((FYI, we are actually very very lucky to get more than one days worth of snow each year in Ireland but when it does get cold it is VERY cold!))

From what I have read into the costume standard, the only parts I need for clearance are the jacket, gloves and two greeblies, with the hoth style boots being optional, is this correct or am I missing something else?

I know that the vest is the same, just worn backwards, but I notice that some pilots have rivets on their vest similar to how they are in Rogue One, is this a requirement or an option, as it would be a shame to have to get an entirely new vest just for the same of the rivets.

I'm very new to the RL forum so if anyone could give me tips on how to best navigate the sale section I would be much obliged! Smile

Thank you all and MTFBWY!

I believe the rivets were only for Luke, but someone more knowledgeable can hopefully confirm

I think you're right about all the rest though, I hadn't realised myself that we need to change so little (as I call the jacket little!), I could be very tempted to do the minimum needed short term whilst working towards the rest (boots, balaclava etc) long term

Same, hoping to have the gloves and jacket before Christmas, the rest can be done after. I'm also now wondering if the boots and gloves would suit for one of the Hoth trooper types as well, I seem to be addicted to making costumes that share a lot of parts!

That’s a dangerously slippery slope.
I started with plans just to do a Luke X-Wing, then said “Hey, why not turn it into a Snowspeeder?”, then, after getting the utility belt, bought the Bespin jacket, (which he wears under the Snowspeeder/Dagobah flightsuit anyway).
So that became a full-blown Bespin (add in a Denix DL-44).

(Consciously avoided doing the Hoth one. For now, at least! 🤣)

Then I made the mistake of buying a comlink from a Facebook group. Such a small, inexpensive prop. Suddenly I’ve got a grappling hook in my hand and I’m doing a Post-Trash Compactor and from there it’s only a small (and excruciatingly expensive) step to Tatooine Farmboy/Lars Homestead (especially when you try to get real parts for the macrobinoculars)!

Current count: 5 costumes when I budgeted for 1 😱

You are correct, the jacket are gloves (with a commpad on the left glove gauntlet) are the two biggest changes from the standard X-wing pilot. The soft boots are optional. The rivets were only on Luke's flak vest, generic pilots shouldn't have the rivets on the vest. Smile
