As soon as the new LMO is announced you might pm them and ask the question. Maz is pretty short so my guess is she is not eligible for most members to make. Jawas have references for ones that do come up to Luke and C3P0's shoulders in ANH and there are a few taller ones in some of the prequels. Rest assured a 6 foot tall Jawa would never happen.

You might be able to get away with making the LEGO version of Maz from the Freemaker series since all LEGOs are the same height. Again, that is a matter for the LMO to determine.

If you are going to do a MAZ you will most likely need to do a silicone mask much like those that are done for Plo Koon or Nien Numb. The Alien judges could help you decide the best route.

Funny thing is we have a few jawas here in Texas that are over 6ft tall, so it does happen.

Not sure why this is even an issue. Jawas are not discriminated by size, nor are face characters. As far as Chewbacca goes, you can make yourself taller, but you can't make yourself shorter. That would be unfair and discriminatory to deny approval on something that is beyond one's control.

I completely agree that would be discriminatory. And I would say it is also in the other sens as you might make yourself taller a bit, not so much. And in any case stilts are bringing a risk to the wearer and can be dangerous as if you fall it's from higher and thus more likely to break a bone or worst...

In that sens it's discriminatory to require form member to take more risks to wear the same costume than others...

On a side note, I think that it could be nice to actually include in the charter than people can be discriminated for costume approval base on physical elements like height, weight, etc. Wink It would solve once and for all this kind of debates and problems.

Maybe a hardshell helmet could work also.

Is there any more news on this?

I think Maz has a totally unique look, and would be very interested in doing it, but I'm 5ft exactly - so would I be too tall??

Apparently one Maz got approved without me ever getting an answer here. Bit annoyed but the one approved is truly excellent. Mine is done long since (possibly even before the one approved) but still looking for the section where she belongs.

I am also interested in doing a MAZ. I am 5'2". I have been gathering materials and have even gotten my prescription (I am very nearsighted) put in a sunglass frame that I intend to paint like her goggles. I am not excited to wear face paint or a mask, so that might put a damper on getting approval for me. Hard to say I guess. I also wonder what category she falls into. Scoundrel? Smuggler? Fringe?

I'm very grateful for finally getting an answer on the section. As I said, I've long since made the costume. But I haven't done anything about makeup or a mask. I might just wear it for Cons.
