So my housemates and myself are creating generic Jedi Robes to join the rebel legion, and one of my housemates is having trouble coming up with how to connect his duel saber to his belt via D ring because he doesn't wanna use a covertech clip... anyone have any suggestions? below is a picture of the duel saber, thanks for any responses.

Your housemate has a very nice looking dual saber. As for hanging it from a belt with the D-ring style he may want to try this item from TCSS. One side of the D-ring is curved as to hopefully sit flush against the hilt. I am working ever so slowly on my own saber hilt but plan on the covertech knob for hanging it from my future belt.

I'm not sure as to the placement of the D-ring. It would really be up to him as how to have it hang comfortably from his belt and while wielding it in a mock duel.

That's a big damn hilt.

Honestly, if he's ok with carrying it just put a clip on the belt and leave the saber as is (check if it doesn't weigh down the belt too much.
If he does want it on his belt, just make sure the connecting piece is off-centre, that will make it hang straight and normal
