Oh! It's hiding in plain sight!
Did it come with the armor, or was that a separate purchase?
Attaching with some high power magnets is a great idea. |

It was an option to buy with the rest of the armor from KW.
I need to sit down and draw up the template/pattern for the chest armor. KW has it available but I didn't care for the look of it personally. I'm going to build it out of sintra. Just need to figure out the neckseal. |

Sorry about that! Tried to delete it, but it didn‘t work 😖 so I make it shorter instead.
Where did you find it at his homepage? Or do I have to send him a mail? And another question, is it the same material as I see for the Troopers? This thin plastics?
Greetings

Its the same as the Clone Troopers. To order you need to email him. I believe the email address is on his site. |

Got my armor started.
Hand plates and shoulder bells ready for paint.
The hand plates were reinforced with 3mm sintra to give them some weight.
Gauntlets and biceps assembled and waiting for sintra reinforcement and spot putty.

This topic is relevant to my interests. I'm not doing Obi-Wan, but I will be purchasing the armor from KW as well. Looking forward to working with it. |

Spent a little time on the back patio last night and got the shin armor cut out. I'm working on narrowing the shins so they aren't quite so wide. Without the rest of the armor I'm afraid the wide shins will looks odd. Takes a lot of heat to shape the ABS but I have the front of one shin narrowed. I still need to work on the back of that one and then match the other side but I'm taking it slow so I don't mess them up. I'll try to post take some pictures and post them after I work on them tonight. |

Got some more work done on my shin armor. My left shin (right in photo) has been narrowed significantly to better fit my leg. You can see the size difference between my modded shin and the stock cut shin next to it. With no armor between my shoulders and knees I felt it would be better to slim the shins down. I'm pretty happy with the sizing on the left but I'm not going to start attaching the two halves until I get the right one to match.
Here are my assembled gauntlets, biceps, shoulder bells and hand plates. I want to do some more filling and sanding on the gauntlets and biceps. I'm not quite happy with the seams on them. But the shoulders and hand plates are ready for paint. Maybe this weekend?

My lightsaber is shipping this week! I'm getting a Saberforge Redeemer and I'm beyond excited.
More progress on the armor will be happening this week. |

Chest armor template, rough cut out, assembly and shaping made from sintra.
Animation correct knees cut and rough attached to the shins.
Prepped for paint and first coat. I’m trying out Montana Gold spray paint on this project. We’ll see how it turns out.
And finally the piece that brings it all together - the lightsaber. Mine is a Saberforge Redeemer.
More progress to post soon as I’m aiming to have this costume completed in time for SDCC next week. Soft goods are started with the tunic finished so far. Just have the obi, tabbard, belt and pouches. |

Nearly complete. I'll post some pictures of the armor all weathered up later tonight. The only things left to do are make the neck seal, attach the shoulders to my tunic and weather the shoes (which are en route). It'll be down to the wire but I should have this done for SDCC this week. |

Great thread. I just started working on my KW set.
Question:
On the forearms, did you do velcro closure or just oversized to fit your wrist through? |

The forearms are one piece. My hands can barely fit through without my gloves. The shins are velcroed.
A couple shots from SDCC. I’m not completely happy with everything. I need to strap the biceps as they kept slipping. The shoulder bells need to come up and I need to beg my wife to bring the tunic shoulders in a bit. Oh and the velcro on one of the shins failed so I need to reattach that. But for a shakedown at a giant convention it went pretty well. And I got to wear it at the 10th anniversary panel.
