Ahh, I see- you’re using TLJ references. TLJ will need it’s own standard because the uniforms are slightly different.

As far as the fitting goes- I would call that a fitted side seam rather than a princess seam.

For belt colors remember the range has to encompass all of the options we see- which it why it runs to dark brown. The reason I didn’t include saddle tan is personal experience- it was too light even with extensive weathering, and had to be re-dyed.

So will there be a separate standard for the vest for TJL? I know this jacket is different to the TFA ones. But is there much different with the vest?

So perhaps more of a red brown than saddle tan?

Yes, there I think there will be a separate standard for TLJ. The color palette is different, the jackets are different, and there is less variation overall.

As soon as we have the movie available for screen caps we can start adding to the research. I'm going to shoot you a pm about helping with the research if you're interested.

After running a couple of things by some non-English speakers, I've updated the fabric description for the vest/jackets. I also changed the fabric type to "preferred".

Propose:

Required Items:

1. Jacket or Vest

Option 1:
-Medium to dark brown jacket. Fabric with a fulled/brushed texture and no visible weave (similar to melton wool) is preferred.
-Mandarin collar with the rows of topstitching spaced about 1" apart
-Wrap front closing left over right with no visible closures. Left flap has a curved edge per reference photos.
-Belt is threaded through a slit in the left flap, and the buckle is hidden.
-Jacket front features princess seams curving from the sleeve across the bust.
-Jacket back is fitted to the waist through the side seams. The bottom flares slightly and features a jacket vent.
-Jacket has a center back seam.
-Jacket features shoulder seams running from the collar to the sleeve on either side.

Optional: Weathered fabric Starbird patch on the left shoulder

Option 2:
-Light to medium brown wrap front jacket. Fabric with a fulled/brushed texture and no visible weave (similar to melton wool) is preferred.
-Wrap front closing left over right with no visible closures.
-Jacket has a V neckline created by the wrap front. (Surplice neckline.)
-Jacket back is fitted to the waist through the side seams. The bottom flares slightly and features a jacket vent.
-4 lines of topstitching curve around the shoulder, spaced approximately 1.5” apart
-Jacket has a center back seam.
-Jacket features shoulder seams on both sides.

Optional: Weathered fabric Starbird patch on the left shoulder

Option 3:
-Gold to golden brown wrap front vest. Fabric with a fulled/brushed texture and no visible weave (similar to melton wool) is preferred.
-Wrap front closing left over right with no visible closures.
-Vest has a center back seam.
-Vest back is fitted to the waist through the side seams.
-Vest features shoulder seams on both sides.
-There are two rectangular patch pockets sized approximately 5" x 7" that are placed on either side. They sit approximately at the hip.

2. Shirt
-A cream/light tan to dark beige, long sleeved shirt of lightweight woven fabric, such as cotton.
-Sleeves are gathered into a wide cuff ending at the wrist. Cuff fasteners should be hidden.
-The shirt collar stands up approximately 1 inch and opens at the left shoulder, secured with non-visible fasteners.
-The shirt may optionally close down the left side of the front, but the fasteners should not be visible.

Note: these are consistent with the existing Jr. Controller Standard, and they wear the same shirt.

3. Trousers
-Dark olive to chocolate brown in a bottom-weight twill or similar fabric or a pant weight gaberdine. No denim.
-Pants should have a high waist and fly front.
-Worn with the pant leg tucked into boots. Pant legs should be fitted enough to tuck without excessive blousing.

Optional: Patch front pockets that extend upward to form the belt loops.

Optional for Pants worn with Option 3 (Gold Vest): Combat stitching around the knee.

4. Belt
-Golden brown to dark brown leather belt, 2 to 2.5 inches (5 to 7 cm) wide.
-Weathered, silver toned, solid rectangular buckle with rounded corners. Buckle should be the same width as the belt.
-No visible rivets.

5. Boots

Option 1:
- Calf high black or brown boot, featuring a Velcro strap at the top and a vertical zipper on the inside. Boots have a flat sole. (Similar to the PoZu Well 2 Boot.)

Option 2:
- Brown, knee high, flat soled boots. Boots may have an inside zipper, with a tab at the top secured by a metal stud.

Option 3:
-Dark brown ankle high, flat soled boots worn with dark brown woven legwraps that reach just below the knee.

Optional Items:
1. Screen accurate Resistance rank badge, any branch any rank.

2. Teal fabric Resistance medical services arm band worn on left shoulder. 4″ wide, with 2″ high Aurebesh lettering in white on band that translates to MEDIC.

3. Brown leather/leather-like, rectangular belt pouches, dimensions and number vary.

I think that reads really nicely.

The only things I'm not sure of is the inch for the top-stitching on the mandarin collar, might be a bit big......but as its approx I guess you would give approval to smaller than that?

'Belt is threaded through a slit in the left flap, and the buckle is hidden. ' I'm wondering if we need to put buckle or if we could put closure? As I'd be inclined to make it with a press stud closure as it would sit flatter? unless you've see a ref where you can see the buckle? Again not overly important, just a thought.

Good catch! That was a typo that then got copy/pasted a couple of times. Thank you! The topstitching on the collar should be spaced about 1/2" apart.

Marie, Tom what are your thoughts on the belts?
