Looking to make some Quinlan Vos style arm wraps. Can anyone point me to a tutorial or site that would be of help? I'm lousy at sewing, so the more instructions, the better.

Thanks.

I’d be curious about this as well. Especially since I haven’t found a lot of approved arm wraps thus far.

Hey! I've made plenty of arm guards before and I think that these tutorials are the best. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeS411OYbz4
This is a gauntlet tutorial for craft foam, which is a material that isn't approvable as is. You will need to cover your foam with leather or leather-like fabric (upholstery leather works great). I have not tried getting this method approved for a costume yet, but I have used it for my CW Darth Maul build in the Sith Lord Forums and haven't been warned against it.

I recommend following this tutorial and using 5mm craft foam which you can find at Joann Fabrics or Hobby Lobby. Once you have your gauntlets made out of foam, cut out strips of leather and adhere them to the foam using rubber cement, high temp hot glue or super glue. Pop some gloves underneath your gauntlets and you should be good to go!

Here are some pictures of what my foam+leather for Maul looked like finished. To ensure my edges looked clean, I folded the leather over the foam and glued it to the underside. It should look like this when you use that method.

I hope this helps! Keep in mind that the foam is a base that gives your arm guard structure and is not meant to be the main costume component. Focus more on finding the perfect texture and color in the leather or fabric you choose. Also, your attachment devices cannot be visible. Go for hook clasps, very strong velcro or elastic to keep them on. Good luck and let me know if this method works for Vos!
