Well, I've had a bit of a wardrobe disaster. Right before my last troop, I managed to split my Boushh leather pants in a way that formed an "L" shaped flap. Does anyone have any experience in repairing this type of tear? I would assume that I should basically use some sort of glue and a reinforcing backing fabric but I don't really know what kind of glue or fabric would work well for this. Anyone with recommendations especially regarding leather glue? The garment is unlined. Thanks!

To be honest, when my leather dress got a tear in it, I just did a quick 'sew it together' so it wouldn't tear any further. But that did happen in an area where it is not visible, so I wasn't concerned about it being pretty.

I know klepfast is a leather clue, but you could probably use another, too. Have you tried checking the advice on this to that?
If you need it to be pretty a backing piece of leather would most likely be needed.

I did a bit of searching, and it looks like you'd want a patch behind it, smooth it out and glue it down, and then put some filler on the top to disguise the rip.

Since it's in a high stress area of your pants, I wonder if you'd also need some stitches to secure the patch in, but I'm not sure how strong repair glues actually are.

I would also post this in a general costuming area as well. Lots of Jedi have leather parts of their outfits and may have experience in fixing it.
