To calculate the yardage I used this guide....


I used a 60 inch wide poly crepe de chine. Polyester will hold the pleats much better than a natural fiber.

I unfortunately don't have a progress photo of the pattern I used because I just drafted it directly on the fabric, however I will at a later time draw a small scale version to show you. Hope this helps.

If you're short, you can use this amazing super wide quilt backing fabric in cotton. It's 90cm-180cm wide I think (I forget which). I was able to use the pattern above without having to make it in multiple pieces. It's also inexpensive and can be dyed, pleated, and broomsticked.
