hallo,
i just want to ask this question as local bmo as i think there may was a change.

in the past costume judges, as well as costume applicants both got a period of 2 weeks to answer
i currently recognised some messages speaking of 1-3 weeks for the costume judges and still only 2 weeks for the applicants.
i think that is a bit unfair as this period should be the same on BOTH sides or is there any good reason why the abouth mentioned periods to answer are diffrent? i think even the applicant should have a longer period sometimes if "bigger" changes have to be done
yours

Anyway, for modifications of a costume, I always though 2 weeks were totally unrealistic. You can easily be booked with some events 2 week-ends in a row, and most people only have time to work on costumes the week-end :s

For answer, I think 2 weeks should be enough, but to apply modification, I personally believe it should be at least a month given without the need to restart all the process from scratch.

Hello!
Two weeks is acctually the guideline written in the charter.
Hope this helps!

'If approval of the costume requires modification(s), the applicant will receive an email from the head LCJ overseeing the judging of their costume. This email will give details of the requested modification(s). The head LCJ and applicant may work through these requested modification(s) over a period of time; however, the applicant should strive to complete requested modification(s) within two weeks of being informed that modification(s) are needed for costume approval. '

When the LCJs say the process can take on average 1 to 3 weeks, that also includes the time for an applicant to make corrections. If an LCJ responds with corrections within the first week, then there are two weeks of corrections, it's about 3 weeks total. Most of the time judges should be providing feedback within the first 7 days of the costume being submitted but that time can vary.

If an applicant sends in a costume ready to be approved, then it can take a few days for the application to be approved.

As for LCJ response time if costume corrections are required, the timing will vary. It depends on how many new applications are in the system. There are periods of time such as around movie premieres or large conventions where a lot of people want to get approval. Due to the increased volume of applications, response times of the judges can be slower because they are dealing with so many applications.

Also if a person submits a costume without a standard or it is a legion first, it can take longer for a judge to get back to an applicant. This is because the judge has to research the costume and become familiar with it in order to provide good feedback.

Finally the process can take even longer if the judge has to go back and forth with the applicant to get good photos of the costume in order to judge.

To summarize, the a submission if approved can take anywhere from a few days to about a month to get approved depending on the time it takes the judge to supply an applicant with proper feedback. Once an applicant is given proper feedback they have two weeks to make corrections. Sometimes the applicant has to go through an additional round of corrections after submitting the first round of corrections and the judge will allow for additional days for those to be made. On average, the process from start to finish should be 1 to 3 weeks, at least that is what we attempt to target.
