Character/Costume Description

The character I'm imitating is
named "Starkiller," from Star Wars: The
Force Unleashed 2 video game. Starkiller,
originally designated as Subject 1138, was
the codename of an epically powerful clone
of the late Galen Marek, the secret
apprentice of the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
When Marek died, Vader endeavored to
recreate his disciple by utilizing the cloning
technologies of the Kaminoans on their
home planet Kamino. The cloning
procedure, enhanced from its original form
to allow for a rapid rate of growth among
its subjects, was initially imperfect and
many clones were too unstable to suitably
replace Marek. After months of failures, one
particular clone impressed Vader enough
for him to hope that this versionmight
become the first success. But as with the
others, he inherited Marek's untamable
power and skills at the cost of receiving his
emotions as well, a side effect of memory
flashes used in the training process.

The costume that I replicated is
referred to as Starkiller's "Arena Combat
Gear." This costume, minus the boots,
pants, and shirt is entirely handmade
(although the shirt was altered in order to
turn a crew neck into a V-neck). My Arena
Combat Gear features hand cut 100%
leather chest, abdomen, waist belt, and
drop leg harnesses. The 4 pouches along
with the drop leg pouch are also hand cut,
handmade, and 100% leather. All leather
pieces were aged and distressed to convey
a battle worn look. Starkiller's large
shoulder bell armor is comprised of
a complicated composition of materials to
portray a metallic surface and appearance
while conforming to the shape of my
shoulder, chest, and back. The smaller
deltoid bell armor piece was also
constructed from diverse materials
and made to appear metallic. The belt
buckle and dual circular clasps were
handmade. All other metallic pieces
featured on the various leather straps
(harnesses) were also custom made parts
as well. Armor pieces for the gloves were
handcrafted. The shirt, pants, and boots
have been very aged. The front/back
tabards have been extremely distressed.
Lastly, the dual leg and forearm wraps are
cloth strips that have been dyed and
distressed.
