Talia was the queen of Onderon
during the first Jedi Purge of 3954
BBY and ruled through the events of
Knights of the Old Republic II.

Queen%20Talia

This costume was my India project
while I was living abroad there for
two years. While playing the game,
I realized that Talia's clothing looked
very much like the Salwar Kameez
that I wore every day. I combined
elements of both references as well
as influences from clothing I saw
around me in India.

The shoes and shawl I found in the
local bazaar. The pants were altered
from a pair that I wore as a normal
outfit and the shirt was patterned off
of one of my everyday kurtas. I
bought all the fabric locally as well,
the hat covering being part of a
newlywed shawl. The belt is one of
my dupata that I wore regularly as
well.

The cuffs and all around neckline
and edges of the tunic have been
hand embroidered with a chain-
stitch pattern based on a
combination of both references. All
told, I probably spent over 400
hours embroidering this costume as
I traveled all over Asia.
