A native citizen of Naboo, Saria was discovered to be force adept by a traveling pair of Jedi at a very young age. They wanted to bring her to the temple for training, but her parents refused. It was not until both of them were killed in an accident that she would be allowed to go, her brother having taken up the parental responsibility. He did not want to see her abilities go to waste like his had been. She began her training around the age of 5 before she was taken up as a padawan by her former Master Ulrich. Saria had a keen interest in helping others, especially when it came to tending to their wounds, so he honed her skills in the art of healing. Upon the beginning of the Clone Wars, Saria’s master departed for the front and was unfortunately killed in combat. Saria was left behind the front lines healing the wounded that came off the field, thus did not see much of combat. Three months would pass before Saria was taken up again as a padawan, this time by Master Ky-Wan Zann. Unlike her former master Ulrich, Zann chooses to hone her abilities in combat and survival training, which had previously taken a bit of a back burner after her classroom set training was completed.
Saria is an eccentric young woman who likes to pipe in with fairly obvious tidbits of information, which has warranted the nickname “Tips” from Master Zann. She can also be a smart-ass, so to speak, and fairly witty when opportunity shows itself and she likes to joke around. But, when it is time to train or get serious about something, she easily puts that aside to put focus where it needs to go. She is a fast learner and is keen on learning the new skills that Master Zann has to offer.
