Since my approval with the 501st Southern
Dewback Garrison, I would like you to
consider my Juno Eclipse submission below
for Rebel Leigon approval.
Item 1: Hair Style - Blonde wig
I have dark hair so I have opted to use a
wig to achieve the blonde hair required. I
bought the ALISON - Lace Front Long Ash
Blonde Wig from The Wig Outlet.
I had my hairdresser trim it to suit me and
then I styled it into the french twist myself.
Item 2: Grey Tank top - Made myself
I made this with stretch fabric I already
had, without a pattern.
Item 3: Gloves - Bought and altered
I bought these gloves from CostumeLand
where I removed the thick lining and made
them into the open back shape. I also
shortened the fingers to make them fit me
better, then I finished by adding a small
strip of black elastic at the wrist.
Item 4: Jacket - Made myself.
I searched for a riding jacket pattern to use
as a base and settled on Simplicity 1361 for
the general shape of the riding jacket, then
modified how the "Breast panels" would
attach. I made a mock up to try different
methods to see what worked the best.
The jacket I made has breast panels that
are sown into the shoulder seam and collar,
and is folded over to conceal the front
seam. It hangs freely at the outer sides to
give the folded back appearance and has a
concealed magnet holding the bottom outer
edge to the jacket. It is fully lined with
black satin and has welt pockets for the
code cylinders in front of the shoulders.
There is no visible top stitching.
Item 5: Belt - Assembled bought
I bought the notchless code disk from Philo
Props (Etsy) and a rectangular belt buckle
blank from Simon Martin Whips (Ebay) and
created the brushed metal effect with a belt
sander. I then sealed the buckle with a matt
clear coat to protect from rust, then
attached the disk.
The leather belt blank I bought from DS
Horne (local leather shop) and attached to
the belt buckle with a rivet I also bought
from them. I made alterations to the belt to
shorten the belt to fit me and attach velcro
to the inside of the belt to attach to the
Item 6: Trousers - Bought and modified
I bought the pants from Target and
modified the waistband, and attached
velcro to keep the belt in place.
Item 7: Officer Boots - Bought
I bought leather-like riding boots from
Horseland as I was recommended then by
members of the 501st Southern Dewback
garrison. They have no stretch panels or
