As an infant, the transport carrying Miana's family was shot down and crashed on the forest moon of Endor. She survived while the crew and her family did not. She was rescued by the Ewoks and taken back to their village, where she was raised by the Ewok Roki.

By the will of the Force, Jedi Master Qui-Mom Jinn was brought to the forest moon, where she was found by Miana. Qui-Mom sensed an incredible strength in the Force in Miana and took her as her apprentice.

Miana's robes are greens and browns, which help her blend in to her surroundings in the woods. Her tabbards are of a special fabric the Ewoks blessed her with, it changes color to match the trees around her, varying from shades of green to brown to grey. Her pouches are of Dewback skin and nerf leather.
