Character/Costume Description
Boots: Boots are the Frye Veronica
combat boots in dark brown soft
vintage leather. I sewed and
attached brown leather boot flaps
with accurate topstitching and
buckles I scavenged from a pair of
vintage ski boots.
Pants: Pants are a dark gray high-
waisted stretch twill. I took a pair of
gray trousers I picked up at a
discount store and completely
reconstructed them, adding front
center and back center seams, and
adding eight pin tucks go from the
bottom of the knee to the ankle on
the front outer panels. I used fabric
from a second, much larger size of
the pants to construct a wider
waistband with correct tab closure as
well as casings for the knees. The
casings hold pieces of tan webbing
and silver buckle that I removed
from backpack straps. There are
small tan rectangles painted on the
casings.
Shirt: Shirt is made from a dark
blue/gray linen. 3/4-length sleeves,
with accurate waist darts and a bib
flap collar.
Vest: Vest I constructed from brown
twill, with stitched parallel lines on
the front, hand-quilting on the back,
1" twill tape edging, front pockets,
and a 3D printed card device and
closure that I painted gray and red.
Vest is lined with red cotton.
Waistband is ruched over 2" elastic.
I also attached the M60 hook and
strap, along with three sets of the 4-
ribbbed tubing details that I made
out of plastic kids' craft necklace
cording, along an old computer parts
to use as the vest's left inner
tubing attachment greeblie and the
remaining vest connectors.
Pocket Greeblies: Top right pocket
includes a code cylinder and a droid
caller. (Code cylinder is a chalk
holder and the droid caller is a
flashlight I re-assembled upside-
down and painted silver.)
Jacket: Jacket is also a heavy faded
dark green cotton, with printed
sleeve detail.
Blaster: 3D printed based on screen-
used weapon. Detailed with black and
silver paints.
Tonfa: Made out of a bicycle pump
and a tool drawer lining based on
screen-used weapon.
Holster: Belt and holster I sewed
from leather, cutting the belt on a
curve, and adding a clip for the tonfa.
I dyed the leather brown, assembling
with silver rivets including a thigh
strap and gun holder strap. Added
two extra snap studs to the leg strap.
Gloves: Gloves are the Columbia rock
climbing gloves, with the velcro strap
removed. Gloves are dyed with
circular stitching and circular cutout
on the left and right gloves
respectively, and the gloves are dyed
brown. I added a deerskin strap with
snap closure.
Scarf: Scarf is bias-cut gray
broadcloth with flat-felled finish and
flat-felled seams at the 1/4 and 3/4
points along the length.
Note: I hit the limit of photos I was
able to add to the application, but
there are plenty more on my Flickr
account if you just keep scrolling.
